...simply does not play .avi files at all. I have reinstalled twice with reboots in between the installations with no success. Any ideas or thoughts ? I'm using an Asus mobo with an Intel quad core 9330 processor and 4 Gb of memory. The beta version is 5.2 with the 5.0.0 driver. thanks...

Please send me somehow at least on avi file you could not open with SplitCam. You can upload it to rapidshare or somewhere else.

During the installation of the latest 5.02 beta of the 64 bit version of Splitcam I get the following message:

"The following file did not self-register or unregister:
1. C:\Windows\SysWOW64\actskn43.ocx"

The installation process then finishes as if nothing had happened. When I click on the Splitcam icon on my desktop, nothing happens. When I opened up the task manager and watch task names I see Splitcam load into memory, then immediately unload.

I am using an ASUS mobo with 4GB of memory and an Intel 9330 quad processor. The hardware is not the issue here - the software apparently is.

To reply to the previous reply you sent me, I was not able to get ANY .avi file to run using Splitcam. These files display just fine using the Windows 7 Media Player application.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have just completed the 4th uninstall/reinstall of the beta with a reboot in between each of the installations. Since the second install, I get the exact same results: Splitcam installs with the same error message "The following file did not self-register or unregister:
1. C:\Windows\SysWOW64\actskn43.ocx"

The installation process completes. The icon appears on the desktop. Double clicking on the icon now produces no results. Watching the task manager I see Splitcam load into memory, then immediately unload. No application window is produced so the request for an .avi file is moot at this point. Let me know if there is more information I can provide. I'm a software QA engineer with 35 years experience.
